Expo Animal 2025
InvestBraga – Agency for Economic Promotion, in collaboration with the Portuguese Kennel Club (CPC) and the Portuguese Cat Club (CPF), is organizing the 10th edition of EXPO ANIMAL, taking place on October 4 and 5!
This event, dedicated to all companion animals, will be held in the pavilion of Forum Braga.
Across more than 7,800 m² of exhibition space, the event aims to bring together a significant number of dogs, cats, and exotic animals, as well as a wide variety of exhibitors offering products and services for dog breeding, cat breeding, and exotic pets — including pet food, hygiene, animal wellness, health care, and specialized media, among others.
In partnership with the Portuguese Kennel Club, a National Dog Show will take place on Saturday, and an International Dog Show on Sunday, with over 1,000 dogs showcased across both days.
In collaboration with the Portuguese Cat Club, a cat exhibition will also be held.
Given how easily domesticated and widespread cats are as companion animals, this exhibition — hosted in a dedicated space — will be a valuable addition to the weekend and is sure to attract the curiosity and attention of visitors.
As is widely known, exotic animals represent a rapidly growing market and a highly attractive business opportunity. Over recent years, more and more Portuguese households have welcomed exotic pets, making it impossible to ignore the popularity of species such as snakes, iguanas, tarantulas, and scorpions.
An event for all the family!

F. SALVADOR JANEIRO (PT)
I was born in Alentejo, a nostalgic and beautiful region with vast landscapes of golden wheat fields under extremely hot summer days. Located in southern Portugal, Alentejo is the homeland of the beloved Rafeiro do Alentejo. This breed remains highly popular in the region, and my grandparents also owned and bred them.
However, my story as a breeder began with a Dobermann. At the time, the Dobermann was considered a dangerous dog, not often welcomed into homes with children. I decided to bring one home, explaining that I had found and rescued him from the street. That excuse helped the family accept him. Soon after, with consensus at home, I began breeding Dobermanns under the kennel name Casa Branca.
As a breeder, I achieved several awards with both Dobermanns and Portuguese Water Dogs, including the Trophy for Best Breeder of Portuguese and Spanish Breeds in the Iberian Peninsula.
In 1986, when I became a judge, I stopped presenting dogs myself. My last litter, of Miniature Pinschers, was in 2011.
I have judged in many countries across Europe and worldwide: Belgium, Belarus, Croatia, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Netherlands, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, USA (various states), Johannesburg, Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia.
Notable highlights of my career include: European Championship (Portugal); World Championship (Portugal, Finland); Winner Shows (Stockholm and Helsinki); Estonian Dog of the Year 2018; Irish Pup of the Year 2018; Champion of Champions 2024 in Ireland; Champion of Champions 2025 in Finland.
I am also the author of several opinion and research articles in the canine field, and I speak Spanish, French, and English fluently.
Since 2009, I have served as Technical Director of dog shows in Braga.
HANNA WOŹNA-GIL (PL)
My journey with pedigree dogs and shows began in 1996, when my first Irish Wolfhound female joined my family.
Over the years, I imported more Wolfhounds and Deerhounds, and for almost 25 years I have successfully bred these breeds under the Festina kennel name, achieving Champion, International Champion, Club Champion, Specialty Winner, Breed Congress Winner, European and World Sighthound Cup Winner titles, and also European Winner titles.
One of my most memorable moments was winning World Winner with my Chart Polski in Poznań in 2006, where the entry for the breed reached a record of over 80 dogs.
Today, I share my life with Wolfhounds and Whippets, whose character and playful nature continue to fascinate me.
I have been a judge since 2008, licensed for all breeds of FCI Groups IV, V, VIII, and X, as well as non-recognized breeds and junior handling at the international level.
I am also working towards qualifications for Group VII breeds, and so far, I have judged at many prestigious dog shows in Poland and across Europe.
More recently, I have dedicated myself to sighthound racing, where I am already licensed as a judge.
